We are holding an Open Day in association with the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Free admission for National Lottery players. Simply present a valid lottery ticket for inspection. Otherwise entry is £2.50, with under 16s free.

Explore the Sherwood observatory facility and see what we do best, learn about our history and what exciting projects we have lined up for the future. Here at Sherwood observatory, home to Mansfield & Sutton Astronomical Society we are taking astronomy into the 21st Century and beyond by reaching out to local schools, clubs, groups & organisations, forever promoting the science of space & astronomy for a brighter future.

This open day will give you a taste of our current ambitions we have in store in terms of construction of an onsite planetarium as well as learning about current astronomical topics.
