Immerse yourself in the wonders of space with our fascinating Planetarium shows.
The majority of our Planetarium shows are followed by an engaging presentation themed around astronomy or space topics like ‘what’s in the night sky this month’ or ‘navigating the sky’.
Your visit will last approx. 1 hour 45 minutes, allowing time for viewing our NEW exhibition and use of the cafe before your planetarium show. Please plan to arrive 45 minutes before the Planetarium show time to allow for this.
For special events such as Open Days and Open Evenings, please arrive no more than 30 minutes before the time shown on your ticket.
The Planetarium shows section includes age-suitability guidance. If you are prone to motion sickness or have a condition that makes you sensitive to lighting effects the Planetarium shows may not be suitable for you.
Tickets: Standard shows are £8.00 for an adult (16+), £6.40 for a child (4-15) and free for children age 3 and under, unless otherwise stated (ie special shows and events). Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
Top Tip: When booking a Planetarium Show you may notice that when available seats fall to below 10, the remaining amount of places available will be shown. This notification is only shown on the Adult ticket selection. However the quantity relates to all available seats left, whether that is for an Adult or Child so you will still be able to select Child tickets so long as there are enough seats left for your group.
Note: A planetarium ticket includes the exhibition and cafe, but does NOT include the opportunity to visit our observatory building or look through our telescope. Our longer shows ( The Planets 360 Classic and Distant Worlds – Alien Life?) do not include a follow on presentation due to the length of the film.
