Planetarium Shows

Our Events

Immerse yourself in the wonders of space with our specially designed Planetarium shows that bring the skies to life while your feet are firmly grounded on planet Earth

Most shows will be followed by a talk led by our presenter and will cover a current astronomy or space topic such as ‘what’s in the night sky this month’ and an opportunity to ask any questions.

Your visit duration is 1 hour 45 minutes, which includes an opportunity to view our exhibition and enjoy the cafe before your chosen 360 planetarium show and a presenter-led astronomy experience. Please note that longer shows (The Planets 360 Classic and Distant Worlds – Alien Life?) do not allow enough time for a presenter talk or Q&A afterwards due to the length of the film.

Tickets are £7.50 for an adult (16+), £6 for a child (4-15) and free for children age 3 and under, unless otherwise stated on the event booking form.

Please see the individual show pages for age-suitability guidance.

We Are Aliens!

We Are Aliens tells the story of the search for life elsewhere in the universe. The show uses recent discoveries about life here on Earth as the basis for a breath-taking tour of our Solar System.

We travel alongside spacecraft as they visit planets, moons, asteroids and comets in search of the ingredients and conditions necessary for life.

The hunt continues as we peer through the eyes of space and ground-based telescopes exploring planetary systems beyond our own.

As the journey concludes we are left to marvel at the possibility that the universe is teeming with life.

DARK

The search for dark matter is the most pressing astrophysical problem of our time – the solution to which will help us understand why the Universe is as it is, where it came from, and how it has evolved over billions of years – the unimaginable depths of deep time, of which a human life is but a flickering instant. But in that instant, we can grasp its immensity and, through science, we can attempt to understand it.

We journey through completely immersive visualisations of dark matter evolution calculated upon some of the world’s fastest supercomputers – cosmological visions on a truly vast scale, in which galaxies themselves are but points of light, distributed across far larger intergalactic structures of Dark Matter.

It sounds like Science Fiction, but it’s not. It’s the real stuff. Real Data, seen in this way for the very first time.
