Each Planetarium show has a running time of approximately 25 minutes, although they vary. This information is available on the booking page for each event. Most Planetarium shows are complimented by an additional talk from our presenter, which will include topical information such as ‘what’s in the night sky’ and time for questions. In total, you can expect be in the planetarium dome for up to 50 minutes.
Please note that longer shows (The Planets 360 Classic and Distant Worlds – Alien Life?) do not allow enough time for a presenter talk or Q&A afterwards due to the length of the film.
The time shown on your ticket is the start of your Planetarium show. Please be ready to take your seats 5 minutes before the start of your show, as late admittance will not be possible. The Planetarium entrance doors will close 10 minutes after the start of the show to minimise disruption to others.
If you wish to explore our exhibition space and visit our on-site cafe please plan your journey to arrive up to 45 minutes before the Planetarium start time shown on your ticket especially if you wish to purchase hot food as it is cooked from fresh, and no food or drink is allowed within the Planetarium.
The exhibition space and cafe is only available to those who have purchased a ticket.
Please note that for the last Planetarium Show of the day, the cafe and exhibition will close during your show and will not be open thereafter.
