Basic Astronomy Courses

Night School Basic Astronomy Course

Our non-accredited astronomy courses are designed for people new to the hobby or those who would like to broaden their knowledge about the night sky and its treasures.

The courses are run by members of MSAS and cover various aspects of basic astronomy over a 6-week period, twice a year beginning in February and October. Each week will cover a different topic and, weather permitting, will include some night sky viewing through our 24” Newtonian Telescope or some of our other smaller telescopes.

We will be running a beginners course from October to December and an intermediate course from February to April 2025.

The Autumn 2024 Night School beginners course is now open for enrolment and starts on Friday 25th October. PLEASE NOTE: OUR OCTOBER 6 WEEK COURSE IS NOW FULLED BOOKED.
